Biography

Michael Thele, born in Duisburg, studied classical guitar at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold.
In addition to the diploma in instrumental pedagogy, he successfully passed his artistic final exam there. Masterclasses with Hubert Käppel, Roland Dyens, Sergio and Odair Assad, David Russel, Alvaro Pierri and Manuel Barrueco completed his studies.
Michael Thele has made a name for himself as a guitarist with various soloist and chamber music projects as well as through his longtime concert activities with the Trio Montero and the acclaimed CD recording “Estampas”.
Through his successful work as a teacher – among his guitar students are laureates of national and international competitions – he is a valued lecturer of his instrument.
Michael Thele currently lives in Stuttgart and teaches at the music school of Esslingen am Neckar.
