Michael Thele, born in Duisburg, studied classical guitar at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold.
In addition to his diploma in instrumental teaching, he completed his advanced performance qualification there. Masterclasses with Hubert Käppel, Roland Dyens, Sergio and Odair Assad, David Russell, Alvaro Pierri and Manuel Barrueco rounded out his studies.
Michael Thele has established himself as a guitarist through a wide range of solo and chamber music projects, his many years of concert performances with Trio Montero, and the acclaimed CD recording ‘Estampas’.
His successful work as a teacher — his guitar students include prizewinners in national and international competitions — has made him a sought-after guitar tutor.
Michael Thele currently lives in Stuttgart and teaches at the municipal music school in Esslingen am Neckar.
